Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 26, 2026
Focus Valley ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information.
1. Information We Collect
Data stored locally on your device:
- Timer settings and preferences
- Focus session history and statistics
- Garden collection and plant data
- To-do list items
- Category configurations
- Sound mixer preferences
On the web app, this data is stored in your browser's localStorage. On the Android app, local data is stored via Android SharedPreferences — the same data categories apply. If you sign in, your data is also synced to our cloud (Supabase) for cross-device access.
Account information (optional):
- If you create an account, we collect your email address via email/password or Google sign-in (Supabase Auth)
- Your account enables cloud sync across devices
- You can delete your account directly from the app's Settings panel. This removes your account and all associated cloud data immediately.
Analytics data:
- We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the app is used
- This includes anonymous usage patterns such as feature usage, session duration, and device type
- Google Analytics may use cookies to distinguish users
- No personally identifiable information is sent to Google Analytics
Error monitoring:
- We use Sentry to detect and diagnose application errors
- Error reports may include browser type, OS, and stack traces — no personal data
- On the Android app, error reports may also include device model and Android OS version
Location data:
- With your permission, the app may request your approximate location to fetch local weather data from Open-Meteo
- Location data is sent directly to Open-Meteo and is not stored on our servers
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the Focus Valley experience
- To understand usage patterns and prioritize features
- To enable cloud sync for signed-in users
- To diagnose technical issues
3. Third-Party Services
4. Data Retention
Local data persists until you clear your browser storage (web) or uninstall the app (Android). Cloud-synced data is retained as long as your account is active; you may delete your account and all associated data at any time via the app's Settings panel. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics' default retention settings (14 months).
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your local data (it's already on your device)
- Export your data via the CSV export feature
- Delete your local data by clearing browser storage or uninstalling the app
- Delete your account and all cloud data via the Settings panel in the app
- Opt out of analytics by using browser extensions like Google Analytics Opt-out
6. Children's Privacy
Focus Valley is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
8. Account Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time using the "Delete Account" button in the app's Settings. Upon deletion, your authentication credentials, synced garden data, session history, and todo items are permanently removed from our servers. Local data on your device can be cleared by uninstalling the app.
If you no longer have access to the app, you can request account deletion by contacting privacy@focusvalley.app.
